The Chardonnay Association of South Africa hosted local and international trade for an official CapeWine-affiliated event: A tasting of some of the best South African Chardonnays. Hosted at Haute Cabrière in Franschhoek on Monday, 8 September 2025, the event brought together exceptional producers and remarkable Chardonnay wines.

The event commenced in the underground cellar with Cap Classique and welcoming speeches by Sjaak Nelson, chair of the Chardonnay Association, and Bennie Howard, CWM. Next, we had an exclusive first look at the first snippet of the Chardonnay Association's larger documentary project: World Class Chardonnay, The South African Story. The highlight of the event was the walkaround tasting of Chardonnays by producers belonging to the Association, which took place in the stunning Haute Cabrière Restaurant.
