Tasting Notes
On the nose, the Cornerstone presents intense aromas of black currant, blackberry, tea leaf, wet tobacco, and sandalwood. The palate is complex and layered, showcasing pure blackberry and black cherry fruit, with a graphite core and hints of cigar box. The wine is supported by lovely velvety tannins, a beautiful balance, and bright acidity, ensuring a lingering finish and impressive aging potential.

About The Harvest
Grapes are carefully hand harvested and cooled overnight before being destemmed and sorted.
In The Cellar
Fermentation occurs in open top concrete tanks. The Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in first-fill 225L French oak barrels, while the Cabernet Franc matures in 2nd and 3rd fill 225L French oak barrels. The wine is then aged for 18 months in oak.

The Cornerstone has always been an important wine within the Reyneke range, with the proceeds of the wine helping the farm workers and their families. The workers being the cornerstone of the business.
